Social Studies
The 8th grade Social Studies curriculum focuses on geography, history, politics and the culture of North Carolina and the United States.

Concepts for this study are drawn from the history and social sciences. Students will be challenged in a variety of ways including organizing notebooks, using computer technology, interpreting and critiquing primary sources, researching, writing, and teamwork. We will use individual and group research, presentations, guest speakers, reading, lectures, videos and student initiated projects to learn as much as we can this year!

About the Teacher

My name is Chantal Lerebours; this is my fourth year teaching at Rogers-Herr Middle School and my first year teaching eighth grade.  I am originally from Haiti.  I enjoy reading, cooking and eating foods from around the world.  I like football (known in the U.S. as soccer) and you can find me, most week-ends, watching my son and daughter play “the beautiful game”.  I also take pleasure in listening to different types of music and watching my youngest dance. I am looking forward to a great year of teaching and helping my students give their best!
